Tony Forte- Head Coach
Coach Forte has an extensive wrestling background as both a wrestler and a coach. He wrestled for Bridgewater-Raritan High School in New Jersey, and then went on to wrestle at Old Dominion University under the legendary Gray Simons.
His coaching experiences in New Jersey before making the move down south were with Bridgewater Recreation, The Pingry School, Rutgers University as a volunteer strength coach for the wrestling team, and also the original Rhino Wrestling Club alongside Flowrestling's Mike Malinconico.
After moving to South Carolina, Coach Forte served as an Assistant Wrestling Coach at South Pointe and Fort Mill High Schools, as well as running the Rock Hill location of Rhino Wrestling Club. The 2017/2018 season was his first at Myers Park High School.
Michael Chase- Volunteer Assistant
Coach Chase has a very decorated career as a wrestler and is a great addition to the Myers Park Wrestling staff. Originally from Pennsylvania, Coach Chase wrestled in college at the University of North Carolina where he was a three time NCAA Qualifier and two time ACC Champion. He is also a college wrestling official for the Big Ten Conference and officiates at the NCAA Divison 1 Tournament.
Coach Chase lives and works in Charlotte.
Youth
Cody Karns- Head Coach
Coach Karns joins the Myers Park program after being a part of the Lake Norman High School and University of North Carolina wrestling squads. He finished his high school career as a four time state placewinner, capping it off with a state title as a senior and an overall career record of 209-14.
Coach Karns currently lives and works in Charlotte.
